The Deacon Ministry serves in the ministry of ordinances, watchcare, worship, training, teaching, and be spiritual examples that model spiritual growth. The purpose of the deacon’s ministry is to work in close consultation and cooperation with the pastor in baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The deacon ministry strives to keep unity and peace among members; visit the sick and shut-ins; call and visit members to keep them informed of church activities and opportunities.

 

The role of a deacon is to lead an exemplary life and uphold the doctrines, teachings, and practices of the church. The deacon ministry’s central interest is the spiritual and physical well being of the church family.
